Job Description Summary: “Janitorial Technician” is a full-time ministry role requiring 30 - 40 work hrs per week. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a 20,000 sq/ft school building, office building, and supporting structures. The ideal candidate must believe in the mission of helping children who are at risk, be able to multitask, supervise student workers, and ensure quality, care, and stewardship of resources.
Minimum Qualifications: The qualifications listed below are required in order for an applicant to be considered for the role of Janitorial Technician.
Education and /or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Faith Beliefs: Demonstrate Christian faith and practice, agreeing with and abiding by the Cookson Hills Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Agreement provided on the employment application.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet software, specifically the Google Apps suite including Docs, Sheets, and Calendar, etc. Ability to utilize email as a reliable form of communication.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts typically associated with figuring materials costs, calculating water volumes, and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Driving Skills: Valid driver's license in good standing with willingness and ability to safely transport children.
Work Environment: The work environment is representative of what an employee typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job; i.e. various locations for cleaning and setting up events (school building, office buildings, outdoor settings, staff homes, residential childcare homes, etc.).

Janitorial Services: Serves the entire multi-home/building site by providing janitorial services to the Cookson Hills school, gymnasium, Admin offices, vacant properties, and as directed by the Manager of Maintenance and Grounds. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily cleaning tasks include, but are not limited to; sweeping floors and walkways, cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, bathrooms, and other areas as needed, taking out the trash, and cleaning windows,
- Scheduled deep cleanings include, but are not limited to; stripping, waxing, buffing, and scrubbing floors, cleaning desks, walls, lights, display cases, conference rooms, and equipment,
- Set up and break down for special events in school and gymnasium facilities as scheduled, including chairs, floor coverings, extra cleaning measures, etc.,
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance & Grounds.
- Responsible for supervising and working with a team of student workers
- May be asked to assist in preventative maintenance
