About The Team :
The Marketplace Zone at CookUnity is responsible for creating a scalable platform that connects chefs with consumers. This includes CookUnity's most critical user-facing experiences across web, iOS, and Android, as well as the internal tools and processes that power the complex operations behind our eCommerce platform.

We recognize that product quality is a key driver of customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth. A single lapse in quality can lead to costly incidents.
The Staff QA Automation Engineer will be a key player in our quality transformation initiative, helping to establish a robust QA automation platform, leading test automation strategy, and leveraging AI-driven testing to prevent costly errors while maintaining development velocity.
The Role :
We are looking for an experienced Staff QA Automation Engineer to define and lead the QA automation strategy for CookUnity. In this role, you will own the QA automation platform, set technical direction, and provide testing support across multiple squads, primarily within the Marketplace Zone, but also influencing QA strategy across all product teams.
You will be instrumental in establishing modern QA automation practices, optimizing test coverage, and ensuring that our testing frameworks are scalable and efficient. You will have the opportunity to work with AI-driven test automation tools, drive best practices, and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to elevate product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities :
- Own and lead the QA automation platform, defining its technical direction and strategy.
- Support multiple squads, primarily within the Marketplace Zone, while influencing QA practices across CookUnity.
- Develop, maintain, and improve test automation frameworks for web and mobile.
- Leverage AI-driven automation tools to increase test coverage and efficiency.
- Define and implement QA-related processes, including CI / CD testing integration, test data management, and reporting.
- Advocate for a shift-left testing approach, ensuring quality is baked into development processes from the start.
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to identify gaps in test coverage and define clear quality metrics.
- Mentor QAs and engineers across teams on best practices for automated testing, performance testing, and reliability engineering.

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Pay Range for this position
150,000-$200,000 USD
