This Opportunity (Job Description)
We are seeking a part-time (approximately 20 hours/week) Patient & Family Services Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Patient & Family Services and collaborate closely with others to serve childhood cancer patients treated at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia (Augusta) and their families with compassion and empathy.
This position begins as a contract-to-hire role with an initial period of 90 days. During this time, both the contractor and CURE will assess the fit for employment with the organization. At the end of the contract period, a formal review will be conducted to evaluate performance and overall alignment with the role. If both parties agree, the contract may be extended or converted into an employee-based position. This arrangement provides flexibility to ensure the right fit for both the contractor and the organization.
Your Impact (Responsibilities)
The pay for this position is $20,000-$22,500, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Your Impact (Responsibilities)
- Under the direction of the Senior Director of Patient and Family Services, implement CURE’s patient and family support programs for families treated at Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta.
- At Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta, visit childhood cancer patients on Mondays and Tuesdays of each week, both in the outpatient clinic and inpatient unit. Provide them with meals, support, resources and information.
- Effectively and enthusiastically represent CURE in the community.
- Assist in managing CURE patient and family events in Augusta including events the hospital organizes for the pediatric oncology population at Camp Rainbow and their annual Share and Care events
- Enter and maintain accurate records and notes in CURE’s database, Raiser’s Edge, and Microsoft One Note
- Create and maintain monthly patient updates.
- Help build relationships within the community to further our mission in the Augusta area, including, but not limited to, identifying flag captains, volunteers to help coordinate family support bags/programs, etc.
- College degree preferred
- Outstanding organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work in a collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation and initiative are necessary for success.
- Ability to take direction
- A positive attitude is paramount
- Ability to listen and provide compassionate support to patient families.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to independently perform all duties of the position
The pay for this position is $20,000-$22,500, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
