What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leather Craftsman position at Coolhorse?
Coolhorse is seeking a skilled and motivated Leather Craftsman to join our in-house leather shop team. This position plays a key role in crafting, repairing, and customizing a wide range of high-quality leather goods, including Western tack, belts, headstalls, and personal accessories. Responsibilities:
- Handcraft leather products including tack, belts, and accessories
- Perform high-quality leather repairs and adjustments
- Operate tools such as sewing machines, riveters, edge tools, and cutters
- Assist with saddle repairs, headstall adjustments, and strap goods
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Communicate with customers and team members about orders and timelines
- Help fulfill online and in-store leather shop orders as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience working with leather and leatherworking tools required
- Understanding of Western tack and horse equipment is a strong plus
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
