Assistant Principal/High School (Athletic Director)

Position Summary
The assistant principal will work with the building principal to ensure the overall academic success for approximately 900 students from a diverse community. The assistant principal will work with students, staff, and the community to maintain an effective learning environment and healthy personal development for students. Specific position duties include; supervision of instruction, staff supervision, collaboration with parents, management of the facility and developing community partnerships. As an instructional leader, the assistant principal will be responsible for working with district staff to select and supporting school staff based on the instructional emphasis of the school.

Qualifications:

• Hold or eligible for Arizona certification as a School Principal
• Minimum 4 years high school experience required
• This position will function as the site’s Athletic Director to include

developing schedules, hiring coaches and overall success of the site’s
athletic program, experience as Athletic Director is preferred

• Demonstrated ability to improve student academic and social development
• Demonstrated success in multicultural learning environments
• Experience implementing systematic school improvement through effective

instruction and student management

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working

relationships with school personnel, parents, the community and
district administrators

• Ability to provide instructional leadership for students with a variety

of learning abilities

• Experience with providing professional development as a teacher or

administrator

• Demonstrated success in cultivating and sustaining meaningful

partnerships with families and community members to support student
achievement and well-being

• Demonstrated success in interpersonal, oral and written communication

skills

• Arizona driver’s license, required

Reports to: Principal
Supervises: Assigned school staff

Terms of Employment:

• 12-month contract
• Administrative Salary Schedule, $65,000 - $90,000 – Dependent upon

Degree and Experience.

• Exempt position under FLSA
• Benefits – all approved benefits for administrative employees
