To support our rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Design - Consulting Engineers (CED) is in search of a Senior Plumbing Engineer to join our team! Our ideal candidate will be able to design commercial plumbing and fire protection systems, maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors, and lead a team of staff to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Maintain responsible control over all design activities pertaining to the project, including engineering, quality control, and code compliance.
• Perform site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolve design issues during the construction phase.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems.
• Document production of small and large projects.
• Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.
• Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.
• Provide deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications related to plumbing.
• Comply with project schedules, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Ensure work is executed accurately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure that design calculations and engineering drawings are constructible, comply with code, and meet customer quality requirements and company standards.
• Manage, assign/prioritize workloads, and provide leadership to junior engineers performing plumbing and fire protection system design.
• Assess and anticipate deliverables, prepare budgets and schedules, and communicate resource requirements to senior management.
• Represent CoolSys Energy Design in project meetings covering technical issues, including meetings with utilities, owners, contractors, construction subcontractors, and inspectors.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering or construction disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.
• 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD required.
• Previous experience managing staff is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, as well as demonstrated high-quality technical writing skills.
• Team player with sound business ethics and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to achieve project goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors to develop a full understanding of building energy systems and their operation.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
• This position will require minimal travel to project sites.
