The QA/QC lab technician will play an integral role in all areas of quality assurance and quality control including performing routine chemical, physical and microbiological testing of both in-process and finished product.

The QA/QC lab technician will play an integral role in all areas of quality assurance and quality control including performing routine chemical, physical and microbiological testing of both in-process and finished product.
Job Responsibilities
- Report daily progress, challenges and concerns to QA/QC Manager and Head Brewer
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the lab
- Daily monitoring of pH, gravity, and alcohol content on all current fermentations, including rotating weekend shifts
- Perform chemical, physical and microbial tests on water, wort, fermenting, carbonating and packaged beer
- Ensure necessary documentation for production is kept current and accurate
- Operation of the in-house yeast propagation system
- Coordinate with QA/QC Manager, cellar and brewers to facilitate appropriate operations and product movement
- Become proficient in basic operations of enterprise resource planning software (EKOS)
- Maintain clear direction and professionalism in the face of challenges and adversity
- Set an example of work efficiencies and upholding proper protocol
- Work with QA/QC Manager to maintain an adequate stock of lab supplies
- Coordinate set-up, tasting and breakdown of weekly sensory analysis sessions
- Facilitate proper maintenance and upkeep of lab equipment
- Use resources such as MBAA, ASBC, and industry peers to ensure current and compliant methodology of best practices

- Experience working for a production brewery
- Undergraduate degree – science or food related discipline
- Food or beverage packaging systems and processes experience
- Food or beverage QA/QC programs experience
