The position of Receptionist is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The Receptionist is responsible for acting as the primary contact for all incoming phone calls and assisting with administrative and accounting tasks as needed.
Job Summary:
These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.
- Answer telephones and direct or transfer calls to the appropriate associate or voice mailbox.
- Greet and direct visitors to the company.
- Take and retrieve messages for various personnel.
- Provide callers with information such as company address, directions to the company locations, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
- Receive, sort and forward incoming mail. Maintain and route publications.
- Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Assist in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies.
- Assist with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and collating.
- Light cleaning as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree preferred.
- One year’s administrative experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors, and general public.
- Must be able to maintain accurate data, make appropriate decisions.
- Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service.
- Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance.
- Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
