Cooper Fit & Fun Summer Camp is seeking highly motivated and energetic camp counselors-in-training (CITs) who are passionate about working with children ages 5-7 (Kids Camp) and ages 8-12 (Youth Camp) during summer 2025. Our Cooper mission “Play with a Purpose” embodies the mental, physical, and emotional development we want children to experience in our programs.
As a CIT, you will support and assist the camp counselors in leading a variety of sports, physical activity, athletic games, and developmental curriculum for kids. The goal of our programming is to foster growth in camp youth socially, physically, and developmentally. This includes not only encouraging a love for movement, but also intentionally teaching and exemplifying our 5 core character qualities: kindness, positivity, respect, grit, and teamwork.

Duties include:
· Assisting camp counselors to plan and execute camp activities (games, sport activities, guided curriculum, etc.).
· Support all counselors and their “pods” in an assigned age group each week, either ages 5-7 (Kids Camp) or 8-12 (Youth Camp).
· Intentionally engaging with, caring for, and playing with all attending campers.
· Facilitating set-up/tear-down of camp activities and equipment maintenance.
· Communicating and working together effectively & regularly with managers, lead counselors, and fellow staff.
· General support of camp operations.
· Fostering a healthy, safe, and uplifting play environment.
· Encouraging participation and positive attitudes from the campers.
· Exhibiting servant leadership and empathy.
· Other duties as assigned.
Must be available:
All Staff: Training & Orientation, May 28th-30th, 9 AM – 5 PM
· 1st Half CIT (5 weeks): June 2nd– July 2nd (Monday - Friday)
· 2nd Half CIT (5 weeks): July 7th - August 8th (Monday - Friday)
· Full Summer CIT (10 weeks): June 2nd - August 8th (Monday - Friday)
Will be given 1 of 2 CIT shifts, assigned by week (Monday – Friday):
1. Morning Shift: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
2. Afternoon Shift: 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Requirements
· Must be at least 16 years of age.
· Must have previous experience working with children 5-12, as well as the ability to perform camp activities (swimming, games, sports activities, etc.).
· Must be enthusiastic, empathetic, responsible, adaptable, and professional, and require little guidance or supervision in setting up and executing camp activities.
· Must be able to commit to a minimum of 5 of 10 weeks of camp at 25 hours per week.
· Needs to have access to reliable transportation.
· CPR certified (preferred).
