The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the shop operations at the Deer Park repair & engine overhaul facility to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality standards are met. This role involves leading a team of machinists, welders, and mechanics, monitoring workflows, implementing operational policies, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Included, but not limited to, are activities such as customer communication, back-office support, managing processes, material management, problem solving and logistics. This position is part of management and a leadership role.

In the role of Operations Supervisor , you will:
- Team Supervision: Lead, train, and mentor a team of operational staff to ensure high levels of performance and job satisfaction.
- Daily Operations: Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to company standards. Resolve operational issues promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Culture: Establish and sustain a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment.
- Quality Control: Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that all products or services meet company and industry standards.
- Resource Management: Monitor & track resources to ensure adequate tooling and equipment to support backlog is attained.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Cross-department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, HR) to ensure seamless operation and coordination.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing departmental budgets, ensuring cost control, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Staff Scheduling: Oversee scheduling of shifts, ensuring proper coverage and staffing for operational needs.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any operational issues or complaints promptly and efficiently.
- Be responsible for all aspects of customer order management, including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, pricing, customer negotiations, customer communications and issue resolution.
- Interface with the Sales teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that will meet customer requirements as well as meet or exceed business goals.
- Procedure & Best Practice: Develop and implement procedures and systems for shop personnel to operate and maintain the shop in a safe and effective manner.
- Performance:
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate an effective workforce and delegate / monitor work activities for safe and efficient facility operation.
- Hire, evaluate, and monitor work activities of contractors / subcontractors for maintenance and repair activities for facility equipment.
- Key Performance Indicators: Meet revenue, profitability, utilization and budget targets.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in a support or field engineering role)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in management roles.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in General Operations Support, Machine Shop Management, or Operations Management.
- Additional experience in industrial/utility/power plant systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to walk or sit for up to 8 hours continuously.
- Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Ability to set and meet aggressive targets.
