About the Role
The Maintenance Equipment Repair Specialist at Cooper Standard is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of maintenance equipment. This includes installation, preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and decommissioning of machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with contractors to complete tasks and projects
- Perform a variety of service work including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, pipe fitting, carpentry, plumbing, welding, and fabrication
- Take a proactive approach to safety in all work activities
- Assist with facility start-up and shut-down as needed
- Administrative responsibilities include ordering parts, scheduling services, maintaining records, and organizing shop supplies
- Maintain the organization and condition of tools and equipment used for maintenance purposes
- Ensure compliance with regulations and industry guidelines
- Participate in 6S, housekeeping, and health and safety initiatives
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two-year college degree or technical training preferred
- Typically two years of experience in a similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience with rubber and/or plastic extrusion/molding equipment preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
