The Maintenance Shift Supervisor oversees maintenance execution in the plant, manages hourly staff and
prioritizes planned and unplanned work on a regular basis. The individual will generate reports and communicate with all levels of plant leadership, and routinely assist in trouble shooting down equipment. The Maintenance Shift Supervisor will also confirm status, time, closure and quality of all work done and reason for work not done, while following administrative procedures to ensure that the work is performed in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner.
Job Specific Duties:
· Oversees the maintenance work crew (Cooper Tire personnel or Contractor) who is engaged and ensures all
· assigned maintenance activities are being performed safely and according to plant and corporate safety
· standards and policies
· Adheres to role and responsibility in Cooper Tire’s work execution model
· Develops a high proficiency working within the Computerized Maintenance Management System
· (CMMS)/SAP and utilizes its functionality in managing shift maintenance activities.
· Prints out work packages and ensures that work being executed has appropriated paperwork and parts for crews to successfully complete all tasks.
· Verifies and validates all necessary input from craft skills into the CMMS and all work order complete and paperwork is properly filled out.
· Decides when maintenance tasks require immediate attention or if additional planning is required Assists and performs troubleshooting in the field, support craft skills crews with retrieving needs parts and components, proper diagnosis, notes all follow-up work on paperwork and in the CMMS. Identifies skill level of responsible personnel and administers coaching or seeks training.
· Participates in daily maintenance & production coordination meetings Understands, communicate and drive metrics for area of responsibility. Maintains accountability of personnel, delivers reward and punishment when necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED. (2 year Technical diploma preferred)
· 3-5 years of maintenance experience, with strong troubleshooting skills
· Proficient in CMMS experience (SAP preferred), MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
· Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to explain and interpret information, ideas, or
· make recommendations on a daily basis.
· Developed in conflict resolution.
· Strong leadership and decision making skills to provide effective direction and resolution Capable of establishing positive working relationships and works well with individuals within and outside the work group.
· Strong administrative skills to utilize CMMS system, typing, MS Word and Excel
· Self-starter and have a high degree of personal motivation, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks,
· strong team player and an ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment.
· The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing.
· Must be able to visually interpret documents and drawings.
Working Conditions:
Plant Environment. Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection, eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed
shoes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee may also be exposed to dusty conditions, high noise environments, outside weather of all conditions, and chemicals used in the process.
