Responsibilities and Requirements
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II role involves:
- Operating PET/CT and SPECT/CT units under State of NJ guidelines
- Maintaining additional licensure to perform CT portion of Nuclear Medicine exam
- Adhering to radiation safety guidelines
- Performing quality control measures on all instrumentation
- Assisting physicians with radioactive therapeutic treatments
- Proficient in IV placement
Requirements include:
- 0-2 years of experience
- Completion of clinical training through NM training program or college requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Nuclear Medicine
- ARRT or NMTCB certification
- NJDEP – Nuclear Medicine licensure
- NJDEP Diagnostic Radiology or NJDEP Limited to Fusion Imaging CT Technology licensure
- BLS certification
