Short Description
Supervises and supports operations of all patient access functions including but not limited to Emergency Department, Diagnostic Centers, Patient Access Service Center, all hospital based registration areas, Urgent Care Center support, financial counseling, copay/financial collection, insurance verification, patient information, verification of physician creditialing,pre-encounter registration, insurance eligibility, benefit verification, and insurance pre-certification/authorization for inpatient and outpatient surgeries, procedures, treatments and/or radiology studies when applicable.
Manages, plans, and organizes/coordinates all daily activities and business functions including staffing, staff assignments, special projects, staff development/training, purchasing, and ensuring accurate identification of managed care plans, network eligibility, and/or billing compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Experience Required
- 3 yrs experience in healthcare revenue cycle, emergency room, hospital admissions, or high-volume physician office, with working knowledge of insurance benefits, authorization requirements and billing codes.
- Prior supervisory experience.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma required; some college preferred

- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented; ability to multi-task using multiple information systems.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic and procedural codes.
