Short Description:
PRN Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) to prepare and process tissue samples using histologic techniques, including fixation, embedding, microtomy, and staining. The role includes frozen sections, Immuno Histochemistry, grossing, cytology preparations, and other duties as required.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in all areas of Histopathology.
- Must be able to assist in receiving specimens and perform clerical or administrative support tasks.
- Experience with LIS (Laboratory Information System) is required.
- Experience with advanced laboratory techniques like Immuno Histochemistry and frozen sections is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum: Associate's degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or Biological Sciences.
- Completion of an accredited Histotechnician certificate program.
- Relevant coursework includes anatomy, physiology, pathology, and laboratory techniques.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Certification or eligibility as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) through ASCP.
Schedule:
- Shift: Day shifts range from 6 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
