Description:
The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Trainee is a training position for candidates who are prepared to gain ASCP certification after three years of full-time work under the supervision of a qualified director, supervisor, or technician. The MLT Trainee is responsible for assuring that a given test system is operated following the laboratory’s procedure manual and that the applicable quality control requirements are met. Administrative and clerical duties will be required as necessary and must be flexible to meet the needs of the department. Upon completion of the trainee program, technicians will be eligible to apply for the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) Examination.
Education Required:
- Associate degree with the following semester credits completed:
- 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) in chemistry and
- 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) in biology
Experience Required:
- Experience in the Laboratory is preferred.
- Attention to detail, reference ranges, and clinical relevancy.

Schedule: Full Time, Days, M-F
