Short Description

1. Demonstrates institutional knowledge of clinical/financial systems2. Has the ability to troubleshoot system issues3. Ability to develop user manuals, policies/procedures and reference materials that are clinically relevant4. Design, develop, implement and assess informatics skill based learning for clinicians and staff5. Works with administrative departments and IT security to enable applications for user provisioning6. Design, develop and update clinical training curriculum includes but not limited to classroom, individual, computer based modules7. Support design, coordination and delivery of new hire training programs8. Set up and populate electronic training environment9. Participates in the system testing for new functionality and system upgrades10. Demonstrates knowledge of adult education principles11. Conducts needs assessments, program evaluations and end user proficiency tests12. Prepares class rosters13. Maintains associated record keeping documents14. Proactively maintains and develops and continuously updates training materials for various training sessions (Orientation, Advanced, Refresher classes, Helpful Hints, Frequently Asked Questions) 15. Ability to conduct classroom style training for users 16. Ability to conduct one-on-one training sessions with users as needed 17. Conduct observations of users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesign 18. Maintain knowledge of Cooper’s standard configurations and clinic specific templates and customization;19. Provide onsite training and issue resolution support at all locations20. Serve as resource to helpdesk staff in ticket resolution 21. Provide user interface support for new EHR implementations 22. Assist with coordinating requests by end user for system modifications and enhancements 23. Maintain an issue knowledgebase to document specific training issues related to the application24. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability 25. Exceptional communications abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staff 26. Conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles 27. Ability to customize and configure Clinical systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices 28. Ability to evaluate and analyze Clinical systems features and functionality for problem resolution 29. Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills 30. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours 31. Ability to document workflow design and identify areas for improvement 32. Knowledge of industry best practices related to patient flow 33. Demonstrate strong skills with industry standard tools related to training34. Perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned 35. Demonstrate requirements gathering skills36. Serve as a liaison between end users, subject matter experts and technical support37. Develop and maintain all policy and procedure related documentation38. Participates as IT representative on committees and task forces as needed39. Perform on-call duties as assigned40. Perform other duties as assigned41. Demonstrates sound and logical problem-solving abilities42. Self-motivated to identify and resolve issues, and in advancing personal knowledge43. Demonstrates strong organizational core values

Experience Required

3 years’ experience in training, Information Technology, Healthcare Operations, or 1 to 2 years as super user or trainer for EMR/EHR deployments

Education Requirements

Bachelors preferred

License/Certification Requirements

Preferred:

Epic certified or credentialed in one or more of the following clinical applications:  Ambulatory, Inpatient, ASAP, Optime, Anesthesia, or Radiant 

EPIC TRAINING Certification. If an instructional designer does not yet have an Epic certification or proficiency for the module they teach, they will obtain it within a year of taking on responsibility for that module.   They will maintain this certification unless it is determined by management that certification in this module is no longer required
