Short Description
This position provides opportunity for growth and development as an independent investigator in NIH funded research and enhance professional skills in academia. Directly accountable to the Primary Investigator, the Research Scientist will conduct specific research projects related to stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) recovery. The Research Scientist will provide intellectual and technical support to research programs and initiatives
Experience Required
Experience in immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology is highly preferred
0-2 years' experience required; 3-5 years preferred
Candidate must have demonstrated scholarly activity in the form of first author, original publications. Familiarity with flow cytometry and standard molecular biology techniques such as western, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, mice handling and surgical procedures is required. A background in cancer immunology is preferred.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biological or related sciences required within 6 months of hire. Experience in immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology is highly preferred
License/Certification Requirements
Track record of scholarly publication and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required
