Job Overview:
Cooper Machinery Services is currently seeking a paid Engineering Summer Intern. The purpose of this internship is to design and build a production test stand for Cooper Hyper Fuel Valves, as well as the development of the supporting documentation surrounding the test procedure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's primary responsibility will be to design and document the new test stand.
Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the design or integration of new components into existing installations.
Modify existing BOMs and Drawings, as necessary to support product revisions or enhancements.
Assist the engineers with the preparation of technical data to internal and external customers
Ensure Cooper's drawings and engineering standards are accurate and legible
Process Engineering Work Requests, requiring any drawing or BOM updates Work closely with Cooper's drafting resources to ensure new or revised drawings are accurate and updated in a timely fashion.
Required Skills and qualifications:
Must be mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of an oscilloscope and proximity probes
Must have a basic understanding of industry standards and ASME Code Must be able to read, revise and create detailed drawings, assembly drawings and customer's blueprint, as necessary.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must work well in a team environment, have strong organizational skills and be able to multitask effectively.
Qualified candidates will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree at an Accredited University (typically sophomore through senior year)
