We are looking for someone who: - has a passion for working with children between 6 weeks and 6 years - enjoys spending time outside and instilling a love of the outdoors in students We are looking for someone who can work 1-2 days/week to assist our lead teacher/director and be the substitute care provider when the lead teacher takes PTO. Teachers will work together to care for all children and complete all daily duties.
Responsibilities:
Programming and Supervision Duties:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to children, supporting their social-emotional, physical, and intellectual development, healthy risk assessment, and community building.
- Interact with children outdoors for extended periods.
- Respect and observe children’s interests. Intervene when needed to maintain safety. Enhance children’s play with language, materials, and activities.
- Interact with children frequently, affectionately, and respectfully.
- Attend to children’s needs, questions, and requests.
- Assist the teaching team in assessing policies and procedures based on current research and best practices in environmental education and early childhood education and suggest and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Assist the lead caregivers in providing direct care for the children and participate in activities.

- Understand and follow the mission statement and values statement.
- Create a welcoming environment and effectively communicate with parents and families during drop-off and pick-up times
- Understand and adhere to all policies of Cooperation Station, including cleaning standards, discipline, safety, and feeding.
- Take part in professional development to maintain appropriate certifications.
Additional Duties
- Help assure compliance with the regulations and statutes of the MN Department of Human Services and best practices of early childhood education.
- Maintain certificates needed to be a licensed childcare provider (CPR and First Aid, SUIDS, AHT and other required trainings for licensure)
- Assist with special events when available
- Prepare and serve food
- Complete general cleaning tasks when necessary (laundry, vacuuming, dishes, etc.)
- Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Interest and/or experience working with children
- Pass a criminal background check
- Willingness to complete all training and certifications (can be completed between the hire date and start date)
- Must be able to lift to 50lbs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
