Animal Crew Leader
The Animal Crew Leader duties and responsibilities include leading the Animal Crew, coordinating daily care for all animals on the farm and supporting residents’ recovery journey that are a part of the Animal Crew team. The primary task is to assist residents in their recovery process through purposeful work and meaningful involvement in the Farm community.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 -5 pm

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance for all animal related matters
- Organizes the daily tasks for the crew, and assists residents by demonstrating or educating them on how to properly perform tasks
- Understands and supports residents’ recovery goals
- Collaborates with members of residents’ recovery team with assistance or if more support is needed
- Attends Recovery Planning meetings and other meetings to support residents
- Documents relevant information for the resident’s electronic health record and/or communicates to the resident’s team
- Care for farm animals including food, health needs, and shelter which includes working with outside professionals as needed
- Provide weekend support staff with updates on animals Friday afternoons
- Monitor and maintain supplies for the animals and the animal crew.
- Monitor pastures and fences, make small damage repairs and report any issues
- Communicate with the community around decisions regarding the animals
- Educate the community about safety around the animals
- A high school diploma and relevant life/work experience is required; a Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with adults coping with mental health challenges
- Experience working on a farm with animals
- Ability to work in various weather, be moving, lifting, and bending for extended periods of time, and able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently
- At least 21 years of age, a valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record to be on company insurance
