What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Server position at Coopers Restaurant and Bar?
We are looking for a part time reliable, responsible and self sufficient employee to grow with our small restaurant and bar.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Expected to do opening and closing procedures and stay till last customer leaves
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Upsell food and beverage items to increase sales
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene as needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of Toast POS system is a plus
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong cash handling abilities with accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with food service procedures and standards
- Ability to upsell and promote menu items effectively
- Basic math skills for calculating bills, making change, and handling tips
- Exceptional hospitality skills to provide excellent customer service
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices
