Job Summary:
Administer employee benefits programs, including and not limited to retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies such as medical, dental, life, short & long-term disability. Manage new, renewal, and open enrollments. Deliver compliant and equitable administration of benefits to all employees, in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.

Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.

Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.

Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations.

Coordinates daily benefits processing. Handles enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.

Oversees maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee records.

Analyzes current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company's stance.

Performs plan audits. Prepare, collect, and organize data for actuarial assessments.

Provides customer service support to internal and external customers. Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.

Designs and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions. Provides training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.

Provides task supervision to employees assigned to assist with benefit-related projects.

Maintains integral role within the operations of HR and CCANY.

Participates in various projects as assigned.

Provides other assistance as needed.

Maintains confidentiality.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont) OR must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Communications, Business or equivalent is required.

A minimum of 5 years of experience Benefits Administration of increasing levels of responsibility, preferably including nonprofit environments.

Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending affecting employee benefits programs, including the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers' Compensation, Medicare, OSHA, Social Security, and DOL requirements.

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to Paycom HRIS and benefits databases.

PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.

Strong work ethic and drive to excel.

Strong problem-solving skills

Public speaking and presentation experience.

Working knowledge of HRIS systems and report generation.

Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.

Excellent oral and written communications.

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals.

Travel may be required 15% or less throughout New York state).

Salary : $87,844 - $90,000
