The IT Asset Manager ensures our organizations IT investments are managed strategically and efficiently. By overseeing the entire lifecycle of IT assets and implementing best practices, they help reduce costs, minimize risks, and ensure compliance with regulations. Their work supports the broader IT strategy and contributes significantly to the organizations success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the organizations goals and objectives.
- Help establish policies and procedures for IT asset management, including procurement, usage, maintenance, and disposal.
- Develop relationships with key vendors, participate in vendor selection, and manage specification and purchasing logistics decision making processes.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses. This includes tracking asset location, status, and utilization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including software licensing and data security.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT assets.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from acquisition to disposal, including planning for upgrades and replacements.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of IT assets, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to optimize asset utilization.
- Manage IT assets to optimize costs, including finding ways to maximize the value of each asset and reduce costs by extending their lifespan.
- Share metrics and insights with teams to improve overall efficiency and decision-making.
- Work with IT Engineering and Facilities staff during site moves to set up networking equipment and desktop equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or 8 equivalent years of work experience.
- 4 years of relevant experience in managing IT equipment

Certifications which are nice to have but not needed:
- Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP)
- Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM)
- ISO/IEC 19770 Certification
- Experience in managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle is highly preferred.
