Analytical Lab Intern

We are seeking a motivated Ceramic Analytical Lab Summer Intern to join our team for the summer. This role offers hands-on experience in the analysis and characterization of ceramic materials, supporting research and development efforts in a laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in material science, ceramics, and analytical techniques used to evaluate material properties.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As an Analytical Lab Intern, you will own your own project, collaborating with teammates to develop and characterize new materials analysis techniques. Responsibilities can include:

• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of ceramic materials using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and thermal analysis.

• Prepare and process ceramic samples for various analytical and mechanical testing procedures.

• Assist in data collection, interpretation, and documentation of experimental results.

• Support the development and optimization of testing methodologies for ceramic materials.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and technicians on research and development projects.

• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and experimental results.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.

• Experience with analytical techniques such as XRD, SEM, EDS, and thermal analysis is a plus.

• Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Basic understanding of ceramic materials and their properties.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Effective communication and technical writing skills.

Target Hiring Range

Hourly: USD 20.32 - USD 22.57
