Job Title
Quality Inspector II
Responsible for in-process or final inspection of product utilizing handheld and/or precision measuring tools. Works within a team environment to meet departmental goals. Maintains work area cleanliness.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process or final inspection on product using handheld or precision measuring equipment to determine if product meets quality/ customer specifications
- Isolate non-conforming product per procedures and determine disposition of product (re-work or scrap); communicate required adjustments to appropriate person
- Document inspection results via logs and reports and input into appropriate computer database
- Stack and transport product via hand-truck, pallet jacks, forklift, crane, or hoist
- Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment
- Train incoming inspectors in processes and procedures
- Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year applicable inspection experience
- Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions
- Intermediate math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), including decimals and fractions and computer skills
- Advanced knowledge of handheld measuring equipment (micrometer, caliper, level, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of precision measuring equipment (Smartscope, CMM, Optical comparator, etc.)
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to read and understand the relationship between drawings/blueprints and product
- Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
