Graduation Coach – Marshfield High School
The Graduation Coach at Marshfield High School will provide targeted support to students who are at risk of dropping out or who have recently disengaged from school. This role focuses on helping students reconnect with their education and providing the necessary resources and coaching to help them stay on track to graduate. The position also includes administrative responsibilities, including data tracking and maintaining communication with students, families, and school staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education or relevant training preferred (e.g., in education, social work, or counseling).
Experience working with at-risk youth or in student support roles.
Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and other digital tools for communication and documentation.
Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff.
Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging student behaviors while modeling positive professional conduct.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively without direct supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.
Experience working with diverse student populations and families, including those from different cultural or linguistic backgrounds (e.g., English, Spanish, or other languages relevant to the school community).
Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive student, staff, and school information.
Collaborative team player with the ability to work harmoniously with school personnel.
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Graduation Support Supervisor
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify at-risk students and develop tailored support strategies to ensure their success.
Assess Student Needs: Use data and student records to assess academic abilities, identify challenges, and provide targeted interventions for improvement.
Create Individualized Action Plans: Develop personalized Student Action Plans that outline academic and vocational goals, ensuring that each plan is aligned with the student's needs and interests.
Provide Ongoing Support: Monitor student progress through regular check-ins and adjust action plans as necessary to help students stay on track for graduation.
Mentor Students: Build supportive, trusting relationships with students to provide mentorship, guidance, and motivation throughout their high school journey.
Connect Students with Support Services: Direct students to appropriate school resources and community programs, such as counseling, tutoring, and extracurricular activities, to ensure they receive the help they need.
Encourage Engagement: Foster a positive relationship with students to encourage their active participation in school, both academically and socially.
Re-engage Disconnected Students: Work with students who have stopped attending school to help them reconnect, re-establish academic goals, and find pathways back to graduation.
Track Progress: Use digital tools (like Google Sheets) to track students' academic progress, attendance, and other relevant data, ensuring timely follow-up and intervention when necessary.
Support School Leadership: Assist the principal and other school leaders by providing regular updates on student progress, helping to inform decisions related to student support and school-wide initiatives.
Data Management and Reporting: Use Google Docs and other platforms to track and report student outcomes, maintaining up-to-date records on each student’s progress and needs.
Create a Positive Learning Environment: Promote a respectful and inclusive school culture, modeling positive behavior and creating an environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
Professional Development: Attend training seminars and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices for supporting at-risk students and using modern educational tools.

Length of Contract: School year- 10 month employee
