Coos Health & Wellness is seeking an Electronic Health Records Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accuracy and consistency of Electronic Health Records, and training personnel in the use of the records system. They would assist in the ongoing development and implementation of the records by working closely with staff to assess needs. The EHR Tech supports the State reporting and unique data extract requests and performs internal support-desk functions.
- Work with EHR Supervisor, programming team and support staff in maintaining and developing functionality of the EHR system.
- Effectively train personnel in the use of EHR software.
- Oversee daily EHR Cleanup reports and Alerts, ensuring data integrity, accurate billable notation, and engage with staff to correct any errors in data entry methods.
- Oversee and assist in daily State Measures and Outcomes Tracking System data uploads.
- Develops and delivers documentation, release notes, and training materials.
- Liaise with clinicians and managers to support general requests, workflow questions, and assist in daily use of software by staff.
- Work with clinicians to assess clinical needs/requirements and develop EHR processes and improvements to meet needs/requirements.
- Development of instructional material (How To documents, Training Programs) for clinicians - technical and clinical.
- Test new vendor developments including validating upgrade preparedness, developing internal release note documentation, and distributing software change information to appropriate staff.
- Troubleshoot problems and assist with identification of possible solutions in the EHR.
- Develop/recommend/revise reports, forms, or system processes - from inception to completion using SQL Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Server, and Echo FormDesigner.
- Validation operation of internally developed forms, reports, and workflows.
- Prepare services for transition to billing department.

- Data entry, user support, and client customer service as needed.
- Participates in staff meetings, attends regional and county meetings as assigned.
- Must be able to maintain professional, positive interaction, tact, and judgment in dealing with Department and county staff and other professional contacts.
- Must comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Four years’ working experience with MS Office with knowledge of standard office practices. Preference given to candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject, or 4 years’ experience with SQL databases.
- Must be able to read and accurately interpret and implement documents such as technical manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to accurately carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have demonstrated experience to deal with problems involving several concrete variables and determining solutions for standardized situations.
- Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or Department staff. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to complete accurate reports and correspondence with short timelines. Must have ability to effectively train other employees.
- Requires ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and with short timelines. Must have ability to use initiative and judgment to carry out tasks and responsibilities with limited instruction and/or guidance. Must have excellent time-management skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain professional, positive interaction, tact, and judgment in dealing with Department and county staff and other professional contacts.
- Must be able to accept supervision and adhere to County and Department policies. Must comply with rules of conduct and confidentiality privacy laws. Must be able to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, county staff, and outside entities. Must maintain a positive attitude and represent the Department and the County in a positive manner in the community.
