Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency medical care to patients in various settings, including pre-hospital environments. This role requires quick thinking, effective communication, and a strong understanding of emergency medicine protocols. As an EMT, you will play a critical role in assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, and ensuring safe transportation to medical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and triage to determine the severity of medical conditions.
- Administer appropriate emergency medical care, including medication administration and injections as needed.
- Monitor vital signs and provide necessary interventions based on patient needs.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare professionals and documenting patient information.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely while responding to calls for assistance.
- Assist in the transport of patients to Level II Trauma Centers or other healthcare facilities as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of emergency medical equipment and supplies, including Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care during emergencies.
Qualifications
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and experience administering injections is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to emergency medicine.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar environment is advantageous.
- Ability to drive emergency vehicles safely under various conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Capability to perform under pressure while maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
