Job Description
Laborer has minimum 6 months experience in a construction and or industrial environment, and is a person who possesses basic knowledge of proper use and care of small tools and equipment. Knowledge also includes some basic operation of equipment required for basic tasks that may be performed.
Responsibilities
- Must be reliable—daily attendance for scheduled work is mandatory.
- Must be capable of identifying, utilizing and operating tools and equipment associated with craft discipline.
- Operate mobile motorized vehicles and motorized equipment, as required and trained.
- Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and recognize all job related work permits and complete Job Hazard Analysis.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Must be able to follow and comprehend supervisor’s instructions.
- Must have the ability to perform basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be able to maintain communications with supervisor of job status and current assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in construction and/or oil and gas industry.
- Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, squat and kneel.
- Must be capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds and working at heights.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests.
- Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
- Will be responsible to be a team participant to help the field crew produce measurable, positive field performance while administering COP’s Core Values of SAFETY, EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY,TEAMWORK, POSITIVE ATTITUDE & DEDICATION
Additional Information
Project locations are primarily in the Billings, MT area with some projects in central and eastern Montana.
Physical Requirements
- Meet all conditions of COP’s drug and alcohol testing requirements as a condition of employment, including pass a pre-employment drug screen and alcohol test.
- Able and willing to work extended hours and possible nights and weekends, as required.
- Able to stretch, walk, lift, reach, stood, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.
- Good hand and eye coordination.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
