LABORATORY ASSISTANT
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant will cover all the microbiological activities and controls related to the raw materials, semi-finished products or finished products, where applicable. The position will also cover all the microbiological activities controls related to environmental controls.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Environmental controls: microbiological bioburden controls of water, surfaces and air. Manage of cleaning procedures of environment and production machine (packaging and filling machines) as defined in dedicated SOP.
- Perform routine microbiological evaluation and control of raw materials, bulk, and finished product.
- Microbiological quality controls: bacteriological performance on the finished product after sterilization (where applicable); on incoming raw materials, semi-finished product or finish product before the final sterilization as microbiol bioburden test.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working/operating in a laboratory setting.
- Must be capable of working in a GMP / SOP driven environment.
- Experience with bacteria growing methods.
- Experience with microbiological dilution methods.
- Experience with baseline rules for microbiology laboratory workflow.
- Experience with using specific equipment and instruments fixed in a microbiology laboratory.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- One year of experience in general microbiological activities required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
