COPC is the largest physician-owned Primary Care Group in the US. We are looking for a knowledgeable, licensed Endocrinologist to provide care to patients at COPC - Columbus Endocrinology located at 4895 Olentangy River Road, Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43214.
The thriving practice has 7 Physicians, 5 NPs, 1 PA and Medical Assistants and LPNs to support the outpatient practice. Due to an upcoming retirement, an incoming Endocrinologist will acquire an established patient panel from the Physician that left the practice.
Office Hours: M-Thurs., 8-4:30, FRI., 8-3:30 pm. (Number of work days will adjust upon hire).
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating hormone disorders and other problems relating to the endocrine system.
Evaluate patient symptoms and medical histories, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
Support patients to deal with the physical limitations due to diseases stemming from problems with the endocrine system.
Analyze, examine, and investigate patients and their medical histories for signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalances.
Advise, order, and perform tests and interpret the results.
Discuss diagnoses with patients, explaining treatment options, and giving advice on medications, lifestyle and dietary changes, and other preventative measures.
Carry out follow-up appointments, monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and medications, and updating patient records. COPC uses EPIC EHR.
Conduct research and studies on the endocrine system and its diseases, disorders, and conditions to develop new treatment techniques.
Remain up to date on current discoveries, developments, trends, research, and technology.
Opportunity to perform thyroid ultrasound/thyroid nodule biopsies
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO), completion of a three-year Internal Medicine residency, Fellowship completion, and Board certification in Internal Medicine Endocrinology within two years of joining the COPC.
A thorough understanding of the endocrine system and its diseases, disorders, and conditions.
Strong analytical abilities to provide accurate diagnoses.
Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and researching skills.
Proficiency with computers and medical equipment.
Ability to speak more than one language would be advantageous.
