Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Building Blocks Pediatrics office located in Reynoldsburg, OH. As a Triage RN for COPC you are joining a team that strives to be the best in Primary Care. This position is conducts phone triage services for the patients in our busy pediatric office. This is a full-time position working first shift hours Monday- Friday.
The preferred candidate will provide exemplary telephonic triage care to COPC's pediatric patient panel, utilize their clinical decision making skills efficiently, refer the patient on to the next appropriate level of care and possess knowledge of working within an electronic health record system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct telephone triage for patient health complaints using an electronic triage assessment tool (Schmitt-Thompson)
- Navigate multiple electronic platforms to assess current health complaint, patients’ electronic chart, PCP appointment scheduling, and have appropriate and timely documentation
- Document phone call details in tracking system for department data tracking and collection.
- Assess, identify, and close patient care gaps.
- Assist with rooming patients, injections, blood draws when needed.
- Develop effective working relationships with the manager and COPC physicians.
Requirements:
- Prior RN experience in pediatrics preferred.
- Excellent listening, communication, and documentation skills.
- Must possess an active nursing license in State of Ohio.
