Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and preventing discrepancies. This role involves coordinating with warehouse staff, suppliers, and other departments to track inventory movements, resolve inventory-related issues, and improve overall inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Accuracy & Management:
1. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical audits.
2. Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies by analyzing inventory reports and conducting root cause analysis.
3. Update inventory data in warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
4. Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper handling, storage, and tracking of inventory.
Stock Optimization & Control:
1. Ensure optimal stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
2. Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions.
3. Work with procurement and logistics teams to align stock levels with demand forecasts.
Operational Coordination & Compliance:
1. Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to improve inventory processes and efficiency.
2. Assist in developing and implementing inventory control policies and procedures.
3. Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations regarding inventory management.
Reporting & Analysis:
1. Generate and analyze inventory reports to track key metrics such as shrinkage, turnover rates, and discrepancies.
2. Provide insights and recommendations to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
3. Assist in periodic audits and prepare reports for management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field (preferred).
2. 2 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related role.
3. Proficiency in inventory management software, WMS, or ERP systems.
4. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
5. Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various departments.
6. Experience with cycle counting, stock audits, and reconciliation processes.
Preferred Skills:
1. Proficiency in using Microsoft software
2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
3. Very organized and detailed oriented.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Knowledge of e-commerce industry will be a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
