What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician position at Copeland Engineering, LLC?
Structural engineering firm is seeking a hard-working candidate that is willing to roll up their sleeves and put in some hours. We are seeking an AutoCAD Drafter who will produce residential plot plan designs. The perfect candidate will have residential drafting experience. At a minimum, drafting in AutoCAD and in the residential construction industry for one year is preferred. We can train you the rest of the way. Vacation and 100% health insurance paid by employer. We are a bunch of people that want to work hard and then get home!
The right candidate:
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word
- Must have residential design and construction knowledge
- Have strong math skills
- Have strong spatial reasoning ability
- Able to read building plans
- Have effective written and verbal communication skills
- Can perform repetitive designs autonomously and quickly with extreme attention to detail
- Can work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Has the ability and desire to work overtime
- Is a positive team player with great attitude
Experience:
- AutoCAD: 1 year (Required)

This is full-time and in-person position. We serve a somewhat niche market and need a candidate who can come into the office daily to learn about our industry and clientele in order to properly assist our team and clients, and get up to speed as quickly as possible.
$20-$25/hour (salary commensurate with experience)
