Position Description
Scroll Machining Technician will be responsible for the operation and basic troubleshooting of CNC equipment and automation to meet safety, quality, cost, and production goals. Support all manufacturing and maintenance groups as needed. Direct and develop hourly employees within the area and take ownership of 5S activities and line reliability.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for safety, quality, cost, and production goals while running the line.
- Start-up and operation of CNC equipment, automation equipment and gaging equipment
- Review gage traces, analyze and make needed offsets in machines.
- Change inserts, drills, and endmills.
- Conduct PMs on tool work-holding, change when needed.
- Perform model changes.
- Conduct initial troubleshooting of production issues and repair if capable. Maintain uninterrupted product flow through the line.
- Take direction from and collaborate with leadership to mitigate downtime.
- Actively participate in LDM boards
- Direct hourly employees working within the area.
- Perform machine coordinator and gage operator duties as needed.
- Actively engage and participate in 5S and Kaizen events and help identify improvement opportunities.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic machining practices
- Minimum of 6 months experience in CNC machining or trade schooling
- Basic understanding of gaging practices
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Ability to perform machine coordinator and gage operator duties.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and hourly workforce.
- Ability to flex work schedule based on needs of operation.
Preferred Skills
- Associate or Technical Degree and (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CNC machining experience in production environment
- Automation experience with robotics in production environment
