Coperion is looking for a Field Service Support Technician to join our team in Naperville, IL! As a Field Service Support Technician, you will play a vital part in our Aftermarket Service by diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding pulverizing equipment and thermal equipment to meet customer needs. Additionally, you will assist with the start-up of new pulverizing and thermal equipment, ensuring a smooth transition for our clients.
Work You’ll Do
Engage in the assessment, diagnosis, repair, and rebuilding of intricate mechanical components and assemblies to effectively address customer needs.
Prepare comprehensive trip reports for customers and inside sales, detailing identified issues and suggested improvements to enhance production efficiency.
Advise on spare and wear parts, as well as establish routine maintenance schedules to ensure the reliable operation of pulverizing and thermal equipment.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment necessary for evaluating the performance of RBS products, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
Team
The Field Service Support Technician will be a part of the Field Service Technician team and will report to the Director of Aftermarket.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of experience in diagnosing, assembling, and repairing mechanical assemblies, including gearboxes, journal assemblies, lubrication systems, and air-flow systems, preferably within an industrial or mining environment.
Proficient in reading blueprints for both electrical and mechanical applications.
Familiarity with measurement devices and their proper usage.
Basic knowledge of safety protocols in mining, construction, or manufacturing environments, with a willingness to obtain MSHA certification for site safety.
Strong basic computer skills and technical writing abilities are essential.
A strong sense of dependability and reliability is essential for this role.
A willingness to travel domestically and internationally 50-70% of the time to support our industrial, mining, or thermal processing customers.
