What are the responsibilities and job description for the MAT/MOUD Outpatient Prescriber position at COPES Outpatient Clinic?
INTRODUCTION: Community Outreach Prevention Engagement Services (COPES) Outpatient Clinic is part of the Oregon Washington health Network serving the Umatilla County area. Our Office-based Opioid Treatment program is seeking a part-time prescriber for Medication Assisted Treatment or Medication for Opioid Use Disorder. At COPES, we have an interdisciplinary team that works toward a whole-person, harm reduction approach for treatment and recovery, which incorporates voices of persons with lived experience as well as collaboration with community partners.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Perform initial assessment, evaluation and ongoing care of patients' medical, physical and psychosocial status
- Deliver Medication Assisted Treatment/Medication for Opioid Use Disorder as appropriate
- Understand and prescribe for co-occurring needs (such as mental health) that impact patient's addiction treatment and progress
- Accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals and follow-up
- Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies
- Chart reviews and feedback
- Team approach to care coordination
- Educate patients on the risks of opioid addiction
- Complete appropriate screens for treatment or refer patients for these procedures;
- Complete patient records and document prescribed treatments or recommendations;
- Prescribe medications for patients to include drug reconciliations on a recurring basis;
- Participate in community activities and provide medication assisted treatment
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of experience working in addiction treatment, either in a primary care or specialty practice (preferred)
- Must possess your own DEA/DEAX license without restrictions
- Active Oregon state medical license
