Job Summary: Copeville Special Utility District is seeking a dedicated Water Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the district’s water distribution system. You will guarantee the continuous delivery of safe and reliable water to our community, responding promptly to service issues and performing regular system inspections. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of water quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair the water distribution system, including pipelines, hydrants, valves, and meters.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on system components.
- Required to participate in the on-call rotation schedule.
- Respond to water service outages, leaks, and emergencies in a timely manner.
- Assist in the installation of water mains, services, and meters.
- Monitor water pressure levels and report any irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal water quality regulations.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or District Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) Class D Water Operators License or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Basic knowledge of water distribution systems and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift heavy objects when needed.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
