Job Description:
Copia is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of High Voltage Engineering and Construction with 8 years of experience in high voltage power delivery (138kV ) design, construction, and project development, with expertise in interconnection, energy markets, substation infrastructure, and project management. This role requires a versatile individual who, while not necessarily an expert in all areas, possesses sufficient knowledge to coordinate effectively and identify the right resources and contractors for various projects. The ideal candidate will excel in project management, ensuring that all projects stay on track and meet Copia’s strategic goals.
The Senior Manager of HV Engineering and Construction will report directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, and will work closely with Copia’s development, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
This Senior Manager will work alongside the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) team members. Specific duties will include:
· Oversight and management of all things related to design, procurement, construction, and energization of Copia’s High Voltage facilities:
a. Lead design and execution of all high voltage facilities for Copia’s PV and PV BESS projects.
b. Provide technical support on HV equipment procurement RFP’s and review technical contract documents.
c. Support development engineering with HV design guidance and indicative pricing.
d. Lead High Voltage EPC contract technical negotiations as HV subject matter expert.
e. Support construction, execution, and energization of project high voltage facilities.
· Manage high voltage design consultants to develop standard substation configurations and typical equipment specifications for portfolio-wide procurement at each interconnection voltage class.
· Support development and long lead high voltage equipment procurement for collector substations and switchyards serving Data Center campuses.
· Serve as high voltage Owner’s Engineer leading review of design plans, studies, and specifications.
· Strategize with Development team on ways to share HV facilities and build project complexes.
· Clearly and concisely communicate plans with senior leadership using Power Point.

Minimum Qualifications:
· 8 years' experience in high voltage substation and T-line development, design and construction
· Design experience in power delivery ranging from 138kV to 500kV
· Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in engineering
· Professional Engineering license (preferred)
· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to work in the office 3 days a week
· Ability to travel up to 20%
