Coplas Inc. an affiliate of Tiercon Corp. is an automotive supplier committed to the design, manufacture and assembly of quality exterior trim and assembled systems used as original equipment in the automotive market. Headquartered in Sterling Heights Michigan, Coplas employs approximately 50 employees. Coplas is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Mold Setter.
Job Summary & Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the Mold Supervisor, the Mold Setter is responsible to for mold changes, machine troubleshooting and repair. (S)he will be responsible for, adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System and practicing continuous improvement wherever possible.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mold changes based on schedule and prepare/setup the machine for production. Ensure the work environment is safe to perform the mold change and communication to all impacted employees is clear.
- Understand and follow Standardized work established as it relates to Mold changes.
- Provide input into efficiency improvements regarding Mold changes
- Assist maintenance technician/electrician with machine maintenance including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
- Assist mold maker with injection mold tool troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
- Support the production team priorities of Safety, Quality and Delivery.
- Assist in monitoring process conditions to ensure they are in control.
- Assist in trials on new programs
- Assist in trials on new technology
- In conjunction with other departments, participate in identifying and analyzing non-conformances or production/quality problems; and developing, implementing and verifying corrective actions.
- Perform duties as assigned from time to time by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Secondary School, Applicable Post- Secondary schooling or trade an asset
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated experience with various hand tools
- Training an experience on a crane-an asset
- Ability to support significant physical demands of assignment
- A minimum of 3 years experience in mechanically related role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
