Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant, Registered Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our incredible team! We are a quickly growing practice with multiple DVMs and incredibly dedicated staff who love to continue to learn and provide that best possible care to our patients.
In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and other veterinary staff members in delivering high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, performing laboratory and diagnostic tests, assisting with surgical procedures, and ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess relevant skills in animal handling and veterinary practices.

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the animals and staff.
- Conduct routine laboratory/diagnostic tests, including blood draws, radiographs, and urinalysis.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing equipment.
- Provide basic grooming and technician services as needed, ensuring the comfort of pets.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-care instructions, wellness lab work and vaccines.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status during visits.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Help field emails, client phone calls, and scheduling appointments
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including fear free restraint methods.
- Excel in communication skills
- Maintain proper emotional intelligence
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential.
- Familiarity with X-Ray procedures
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Experience in veterinary critical care is a plus.
