The City of Coppell is looking for a visionary and strategic Assistant Director of Enterprise Solutions to help drive technology excellence across departments. Pay Plan

This opportunity is exempt and on Pay Grade #26. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.

  • Hiring Range: $110,744-$135,640

  • Min $110,744 ($53.24)

  • Mid $135,640 ($65.21)

  • Max $160,560 ($77.19)


Candidate Engagement Plan
This timeline outlines our anticipated hiring process, though it is subject to change:
  • April 18-May 18: Accepting Applications
  • May 26-June 6: Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a telephone interview with our third-party partner, The Management Connection.
  • June 9-13: Finalists will be invited to complete a DISC Assessment with our third-party partner, The Management Connection and to take part in an Interview Day Experience.
  • June 23-27: Interview Experience.

The City of Coppell Assistant Director of Enterprise Solutions is required to be CJIS certified. Employees must meet the requirements for CJIS access.


Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or a related field:
    • Information Technology Systems
    • Management Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • Business Management
    • Public Administration
  • 5 Years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise technology, information systems, or a related field, with demonstrated experience operating in a strategic or executive-level capacity.
  • 3 Years of direct supervisory experience, including leading cross-functional teams, managing performance, and fostering team development.

 

Preferred

  • Experience leading organizational technology initiatives, managing enterprise platforms, and supporting systems-wide innovation efforts is strongly.
  • Public sector, higher education, or similarly complex organizational experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud services
  • Strong understanding of systems design, server and network administration, and data protection
  • Familiarity with project management principles, resource allocation, and long-term technology planning
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, organizational policies, and safety standards as they relate to technology
  • Understanding of strategic planning, operational efficiency, and risk management in IT environments

Skills

  • Proficient in managing and optimizing enterprise-level hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions
  • Skilled in project management and leading cross-functional teams to implement IT initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive issue resolution
  • Effective decision-making under pressure, with a consistent focus on quality results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration, vendor management, and staff development
  • Skilled in customer service and user-centered IT support
  • Experienced in mentoring, coaching, and building high-performing IT teams

  • Ability to oversee daily IT operations while aligning initiatives with organizational goals
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute multi-phase technology strategies that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and compliance standards consistently

  • Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and with external partners
  • Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining high service standards and operational excellence

Enterprise Solutions' mission is to deliver proven technology solutions and services through innovation and continuous improvement.  We will do this by developing standards, policies and practices designed to deliver efficiency and improve service delivery.

It is the mission of the Enterprise Solutions Department to provide and maintain all types of information technology for the governing body of the City of Coppell. These facilities include, but are not limited to voice, data, and video systems and the information maintained within those systems. In addition, this department coordinates the overall direction of technology and communications as desires and needs arise from other departments or divisions and Directional Boards, Commissions, or Committees.
