Schedule Commitment
Regular attendance is an essential job function and generally works an 8:00-5:00 schedule, Monday through Friday. However, there will be times when it is necessary to work with your team and the department outside of the normal schedule including some overtime during peak payroll period and Accounts Payable end of fiscal year to provide our highest level of services to vendors, citizens, as well as internal departments.
Pay Plan
This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #10. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.
Hiring Range: $24.44-$29.94Min $24.44 ($50,842)
Mid $29.94 ($62,275)
Max $35.44 ($73,708)

Experience
- High School Diploma/GED (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Additional desirable qualifications include APA certification, advanced/specialize training in payroll administration.
- Experience working in a municipal government setting is preferred.
- Experience in Payroll and a finance-related role is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge
- Familiarity with municipal government operations, City policies, ordinances, and efficient administrative processes, or willingness to learn.
- Understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles, including performing mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge of payroll systems, data analysis, and processing requirements.
Skills
- Proficient in operating personal computers with word processing and spreadsheet software, as well as related office equipment such as ten-key machines, telephones, copiers, and fax machines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Abilities
- Works closely with others as part of a team and manages multiple tasks simultaneously, often under strict time pressures and deadlines.
- Analyzes employee payroll data and source documents related to payroll processing.
- Communicates effectively with City officials and employees in English, both verbally and in writing.
