Copper Claims Services is a quickly growing independent loss adjusting firm with headquarters in Irvine, California. Copper Claims Services excels in providing custom claims solutions for Property and Casualty, Transportation, Agriculture and High Net Worth, with an emphasis on Specialized Programs. We are currently looking for adjusters in the Connecticut Area to assist with daily commercial property claims handling. In this role, you will:
- Complete field investigations including inspections, interviews, preparing diagrams, taking photographs and additional claims investigation as needed.
- Analyze insurance coverage issues and make appropriate recommendations to upper management and our clients.
- Prepare detailed estimates in Xactimate based on our client’s claim handling guidelines.
- Prepare clear, concise and timely narrative reports for our clients explaining the sequence of events, your observations on site and your recommendations for claim settlement.
- Maintain continuous and professional communication with our clients, their insureds, property managers, shareholders, etc. to ensure all are kept informed of the current claims status.
- Investigate, analyze, adjust and negotiate settlements in compliance with our client’s direction and DOI guidelines.
- Address subrogation and subrogation demands as required.
- Analyze and evaluate damages for commercial property. Work with tenants, landlords, property managers, risk managers, maintenance staff, to gather and finalize claim evaluation.
- Analyze and evaluate damages including reserves, property estimates, business personal property inventories, business interruption and business income losses.
- Coordinate and oversee vendors such as emergency service contractors, origin and cause investigators, general contractors, engineers, etc.
- Licensed in the state of Maine
- On large losses, recommend local experts as needed.
- Coordinate repairs and claim resolution with public adjusters and attorneys.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of field Property adjusting experience
- Ability to climb ladders/Access roofs
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of roofing, HVAC and various other mechanical specialties
- Knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance policies
- Proficient in Xactimate including Sketch
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Litigation experience a plus
- Previous experience with public adjusters and attorneys a plus
- Effective negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively and independently manage workload
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
