The Clinical Care Assistant position works directly with patients, providing basic care including communication, transportation, physical assistance (walking, dressing), and performing basic therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Assists with cleaning and basic housekeeping in the center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet patients and welcomes them to the pre-operative unit.
- Works with the team to provide quality patient care which includes obtaining vitals, urine specimens, getting patients up, removing IV, providing nourishment, and assistance with dressing, along with other care needs as directed by supervising nurse.
- Assists in inventory control, next-day preparation and stocking of supplies at the Center.
- Able to anticipate and prioritize team needs.
- Communicates appropriate patient needs to supervising nurse and leadership team.
- Utilizes good communication skills while interviewing and assessing patients as well as communicating patient needs to nurse
- Able to multi-task to perform activities with efficiency and speed.
- Performs housekeeping functions / room turnover such as cleaning stretchers and chairs, patient care equipment, emptying trash and soiled linen, keeping med/nourishment room clean, etc
- Communicates and interacts with patients, families, and peers in a positive and supportive manner.
- Follows Standard Precautions and good hand hygiene protocol.
- Works in a safe manner, protecting self and patients.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations, taking direction from the Team Leader.
SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, and has strong organizational skills
- Must be tactful, discreet, and have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Effective communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills including those required during stressful situations.
- Must maintain Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification (provided by the company)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
Preferred:
- One or more years of demonstrated nursing assistance experience in a clinical setting
- Completion of CNA or similar Nurse Assistant program
- BLS Certification
- Experience using assistive devices, such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts and wheel chairs
