What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registration Receptionist 9:30 am - 6:00 pm M-F position at Copper Ridge Surgery Center?
Copper Ridge Surgery Center is an award-winning, multi-specialty outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). We are the largest ASC in Michigan with 8 Operating rooms and 4 Endoscopy procedure rooms. We are seeking a new Registration Receptionist to join our Front Desk Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Obtains/verifies insurance information and demographics to pre-register patients into the patient information system.
- Greets patients and family members
- Verifies/obtains accurate, complete demographic and insurance information and consents on patient charts.
- Retrieves appropriate patient/guardian signatures on required forms.
- Reviews and analyzes legal documents, such as Advance Directives or Guardianship papers, for information that pertains to patient care.
- Creates accurate labels for charting and name band. Labels forms using established policy and procedure.
- Ensures patients and their family members’ information needs are met regarding their surgical procedure or other concerns.
- Calculating arrival times and relaying information so patients can arrive on time and prepared for their procedure.
- Runs reports and distributes them to the appropriate departments.
- Participates in chart preparation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality are maintained.
- Accurately and efficiently distributes forms to appropriate areas at time of registration.
- Receives payments from patients and follows corresponding procedure for collection.
- Acts as a liaison between pre-op, recovery room, operating rooms and waiting room.
- Responsible for labeling and identification of Medical Record numbers of all patient medical records.
- Participates in the Surgery Center’s Quality Improvement Program activities including identification of opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma
- Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Experience in a medical office/healthcare setting preferred.
- 1 years of customer service
