Groundskeeper

Copper River Country Club is an established, exclusive private club located in Northeast Fresno and we have immediate openings for Clubhouse Groundskeepers. A Clubhouse Groundskeeper is required to be able to complete a large variety of tasks throughout the day. Groundskeeper tasks can be generally categorized as manual labor and are related to landscaping. Landscape maintenance tasks include: operating different types of walking lawn mowers, raking of debris, use of string trimmers, use of hedge trimmers, operation of powered debris blowers, and use of basic hand tools. Tasks specific to Clubhouse grounds maintenance include: Mowing, Edging, Fertilizing and Clean-up of Clubhouse, Tennis, Pool and Front Entrance lawns; Trimming and Pruning shrubs and bushes, weeding and/or planting flowerbeds in these areas to Superintendent specifications . In addition, Groundskeepers may be called upon to assist in all tasks on the course including: special projects, irrigation repair, and other general maintenance tasks. Groundskeepers primarily work under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. Occasionally groundskeepers may work under the supervision of a Foreman or other assigned supervisor.

Ideal candidates for these positions are reliable, responsible, energetic, detail-oriented, and observant with a positive, "can do" attitude.

General knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and equipment is preferred. Experience preferred.

Required skills include:

• Must be reliable and dependable
• Availability and willingness to work Monday to Friday from 5:00am – 10:30am
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to take direction
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 60 pounds unassisted as necessary
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
• Ability to spend up to 2-4 hours on your feet at a time
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to handle outdoor shifts of 5.5 hours
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• Must be English proficient – Verbal and Written
