COHO Integrated Solutions is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support the VA Medical Center in Greenville, SC.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Owned by the Native Village of Eyak (NVE), a federally recognized Alaska Native Tribe, the Copper River Family of Companies are a collection of entities that deliver a complementary set of solutions and services to support the diverse missions and requirements of our clients. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Perform venipuncture, finger stick procedures, and other tests using appropriate techniques.
- Collect blood samples using the vacutainer blood collection system or syringe with needle/butterfly when necessary.
- Collect and process urine samples, providing proper instructions to patients.
- Provide patient in-processing prior to specimen collection, including reviewing paperwork and offering guidance.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens.
- Accession all specimens by entering order numbers, verifying tests, and labeling collection tubes.
- Deliver collected samples to appropriate departments and process them for transport as needed.
- Adhere to strict safety and infection control procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the phlebotomy and accessioning areas.
- Perform phlebotomy-related administrative and clerical tasks, such as maintaining records of tests performed.
- Conduct inventory of supplies and restock as necessary.
- Perform quality checks and preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
- Ensure all specimens are processed and packaged correctly for transport.
- Citizenship:
- Proof of US Citizenship is required to work on this contract.
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- At least 2 years of equivalent Phlebotomist experience or Phlebotomy certification.
