Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Legal Director, the Land Manager will have significant interaction with USBU’s senior management professional staff, vendors, and contractors.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Assure all federal mineral right claim filing and payment requirements are catalogued in a system of records
and that filings and payment are timely made.
  • Manage and maintain all real property land records, including deeds, easements, purchase agreements,
leases, and mining claims.
  • Track and coordinate with the Legal Department to satisfy all notices, payments, renewals, and other
obligations arising from real property assets and contracts and assure a system of records is maintained.
  • Review and analyze notices of property valuation and property tax statements for owned real property;
coordinate payment of property tax bills and maintain comprehensive records of the same.
  • Create and update maps of the company's land and mineral rights.
  • Research real property title and ownership history to support acquisitions and negotiations by other
departments.
  • Serve as a liaison to the land department and other departments to ensure proper interpretation of land
agreements and contracts.
  • Participate in reviewing real property positions in corporate due diligence reviews.
  • Other projects as assigned, which may include assisting with contract review and approval processes,
preparation and filing of corporate documents for entities, and other matters involving real property.


Minimum Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Professional Land Management, geology or a related field.
  • AAPL certification (RL, PRL, CPL)
  • Proficient in ArcGIS software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Min. of 5 years land management experience preferred, (experience with mining claims, real property, and
real estate transactions strongly preferred) .
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and with a diverse group of professionals in a collaborative
work environment.
  • Ability to travel to and from various locations where job tasks take place.
  • Ability to work at a pace necessary to manage and maintain assignments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to confidently and effectively communicate to all levels within the company.

The work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions. Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.

Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job, Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employees must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
